Happy Pharmacist Day

For John, BLUFI focus on this because my Father-iin-Law and Brother=in-Law were Pharmacists.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Here is the quick rundown on being a pharmacist:
  • How to Become a Pharmacist—Pharmacists must have a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), a 4-year professional degree.  They must also be licensed, which requires passing two exams.
  • Pay—The median annual wage for pharmacists was $128,090 in May 2019.
  • Job Outlook—Employment of pharmacists is projected to decline 3 percent from 2019 to 2029.  Many pharmacists work in in retail pharmacies and drug stores, which are expected to lose jobs as more people fill their prescriptions via mail order and online.
So, the total number will decline some 3% over the decade.  That does not mean there will not be job openings.  For the cited median income it is something worth exploring a little.

Hat tip to the Census Bureau.
