The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Ooops

I totally forgot that there was a national election in Canada today.

Harper wins majority / Ignatieff, Duceppe trailing in ridings

Ridings?

Yes, an electoral district in Canada.

OK, so Stephen Harper is the Tory, the Conservative, the "Liberal" as the Europeans would see it.  As for the rest:
The NDP, according to projections, made a major breakthrough and appeared to have nearly tripled their seat count, while Michael Ignatieff's Liberals — often touted as Canada's "natural governing party" — were poised to suffer an historic electoral loss, placing a distant third behind Layton's party.
The pesky Bloc Québécois (give us freedom, but don't let us hurt ourselves block of Francophones) went from 47 seats of the 75 in the Province to only two.  That is not pretty.

Hat tip to the Instapundit.

Regards  —  Cliff

The New Democratic Party.  A left of center party.  Jack Layton's party.
The "Grits".  Michael Ignatieff's party, he who left Harvard to get into politics.

That's what happens when your leader prefers hanging out in bars watching junior league hockey to standing up in a political debate.

Si triste.
