The EU

President to AIPAC

Previously there was a post on President Obama's speech on the Middle East, delivered this last Thursday.  Today he went to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).  There he talked to what he expects, which is evaluated by Mr Ron Radosh of Pajamas Media.  Here is the text of that speech.

Does this mean things are back to the way they were?

UPDATE:  The Althouse post and comments.

I guess, for myself only, I am having real difficulty understanding what gives an American President (this one or any other) to tell another sovereign nation "what he expects" as if they were his to command. Moreover, by what Constitutional directive does he presume to choose sides...in the name of all of America? Finally, why can't the American people AND their President come to grips with the fact that with regard to the Israeli and Palestinian "problem" accommodation by either side is simply not part of the solution set. They both want the other GONE. Palestinians want Israel pushed into the Med. Israel wants to Palestinians to go to someone else's desert. The desired end state by either side does not envision inclusion. AND....the US has no business dictating outcomes.

We have enough trouble at home and spending one more American life in Middle Eastern conflict is just a very bad cost benefit calculation.
