One in six Americans are in poverty today—the highest rate in a generation. In this war on poverty, poverty is winning.Exactly! We are currently doubling down on our current approach. Taking a new approach is not only risky, but it means choosing between alternatives. On the other hand, government collected statistics say things are not getting better. At the end of the day I end up agreeing with Rep Paul Ryan.

It's pretty rich that someone so actively opposing the kind of economics that would otherwise promote income equality should be raising income inequality as an excuse for his politics of economic oppression.
Even the Reagan "supply side" folks have all roundly repudiated the "Bush tax cuts" approach and remarked on its uselessness as well as unfairness, and have further advocated increasing taxes on the "1%". If you "end up agreeing with Paul Ryan" on this stuff, I would say you are either living in denial of well-documented reality, or else you're a pretty mean-spirited partisan.

Ladies, choose your men wisely. It isn't the unplanned pregnancy, it is who you have the baby with. While I do tell my children, that marriage matters, marriage can only work if the relationship is healthy and their own parents aren't messed up as well.
Yes, poverty and marriage/stability are linked. Can't say anything about it though. You know because marriage is really just about the civil rights of two people.
