Law Professor (and blogger) Glenn Reynolds expands on an West African proverb, "a goat owned in common always starves". He notes the scruffy bicycles held in common where he was vacationing (the keys had mostly gone adrift, having not been return by users) compared to the shiny bikes for rent down at the beach at $10/hour. He then expands to included health care.
