The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Meeting Customer Needs

For John, BLUFInnovation is often up against Government Regulation.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania we have this short paper:  "Sharing Economy 2.0:  Can Innovation and Regulation Work Together?"

The article starts with a discussion of Philadelphia fighting Uber, the ride sharing outfit, and NYC fighting Airbnb, a lodging program.  It even skipped over to Paris to talk about insurgent cabs.

This is a discussion of Government regulation (and thus Government picking winners and losers) vs innovative and insurgent companies and discusses some of the implications.  An interesting discussion.

If you want to learn more about this you could always read Hernando De Sota's book, The Other Path, which looks at the Government of Peru having to learn to give the little guys a chance.  If you want to read the book, I have an extra copy in the Dining Room book case.  Contact me.
