The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Congressman Reading the Wrong Blogs

Those voters can be pesky, as Congressman Brad Sherman (California 27th (The Valley and Burbank, more or less)) found out recently.  This is from Powerline:
A constituent asks him about DOJ's dismissal of charges against members of the New Black Panther Party and describes the case accurately.  Sherman claims not to have heard about it, drawing fury from the crowd.
Watch the video at the previous link, or not.

The issue raised by the questioner is discussed in Wikipedia here.  The question of the Department of Justice dropping charges regarding voter intimidation is discussed here.

Hat tip to Instapundit.

You're kidding, right?

The case that your discussing happened in Philly and Sherman is from Cali. Nor does Sherman have a committee assignment that would bring it to his attention.

Wiki says:On May 29, 2009, the Department of Justice requested and received an injunction against the member who had carried the nightstick, but against the advice of prosecutors who had worked on the case, department superiors ordered the suit dropped against the remaining members.

So the DOJ is going after the "baddest" guy and letting the others walk? Sounds "normal," as far as "normal" goes in our system.

The YT clip of Sherman is noteworthy. Who wants to argue that that wasn't a set-up? The room was packed with yahoos.

Every citizen has a voice, that is our right. But, left or right, wound up yahoos get a discount in my book. They are there to be part of the problem, not the solution.

My point was, and continues to be, Mr Sherman, if he is from Cali, Columbia, might not know about this, but he is living in DC and is a resident of a pretty well educated area and should be paying attention.  Perhaps I might blame the staff, this is not something that should have escaped notice of his staff.

This is not about the second engine for the F-35, but is a general knowledge kind of issue, IMHO.

The US Civil Rights Commission has asked DOJ to testify and DOJ has stiffed them, so far.

The NBPP has been designated a Hate Group by the SPLC.

Let's put our thinking caps on. The Obama DOJ is going to intervene on their behalf? Hmmmm.

NOPE!

Back to Sherman: Let's, for sake of arguement, pretend like Sherman has a cursory knowledge of the Philly case.

Should he just wade into it with a stacked crowd?

Cliff, have you been trained on how to deal with a hostile media? Certainly, Rep. Sherman has.

You can tell from the crowd reaction, the jeers from the off camera folks, that was a set up. This tape exists to promote the festering "white fright" meme that is being advance by some of your less than ethical party compatriots.

I'd rather see you chastise the corruption of "new media" communications than help promote these crack pot, paranoid smears.

And by promote, I mean giving it oxygen.
