For John, BLUF: Can't judge by the cloths being worn. Nothing to see here; just move along.
Just being a "light" Knight (of Columbus), when I saw the cover photo of the April issue of Columbia Magazine I was a little taken aback.
I wondered if it was a picture of Caliph al Baghdadi. The picture of those about to be beheaded drew my eye, not the American Flag in the background.
But, it is not Dr al Baghdadi. It is Coptic Orthodox Bishop Anba Angaelos, hoping a report on genocide in the Middle East. The picture is from a 10 March 2016 press conference, after the report had been submitted to the Department of State the day before.
Here is a 10 March 2016 article on the issue, from NewsMax.
But, it isn't like this is new. HERE is a UN Commission Report from a year ago.
So, for hundreds of years this was not a problem, although there was slavery. Then, as one caliphate passed away we got genocide. And it continues, a century later.
