Who would have thought of naming a crime "Document Servitude"? But, it is out there, according to the US Department of Justice. A couple in Washington State has been charged after it was learned they had taken a third person's passport and forced her to work in fear of being in trouble with the authorities.
It is amazing that people will abuse their fellow humans the way they do. Whether it is some mob organization shaking down people or this kind of thing, it is wrong.
Longview, Washington, isn't where Neal is originally from, is it?

HA!! I know where Longview is located in WA. It is a has been logging town that has grown seedy with time. I was born and raised on the east side of the Cascades. Born in Yakima (only a few miles as the crow flies from Hanford Atomic Reservation...as it was called back then). Moved to a tiny town called Cashmere (after the Vale of Kashmir which it resembles in a loose way) nestled in the foothills of the Cascades. Graduated from HS there. My brother still maintains a law practice there but as President of the WA State Bar Association is gone more than he is there.
In the 90's, in Litchfield, NH, a couple was arrested and eventually sent to prison for the same kind of offense, in that case, a couple of Haitian men. Pretty gritty stuff...not to mention reprehensible beyond words.
