Pelosi on "President Gingrich"

The House Minority Leader, Ms Nancy Pelosi, says, about a Gingrich Presidency,
He's not going to be President of the United States.  That's not going to happen.  Let me just make my prediction and stand by it, it isn't going to happen.
Does she know something we don't know?

Gingrich is a candidate the conscientious middle will reject, and cleave to Obama the same way they did four years ago, only all the more so because Gingrich is so much more repugnant to their values than Dubya. Yeah, Pelosi is expressing partisanship, but that doesn't make her wrong.

Perhaps Kad is correct in his assessment, however that is NOT what Pelosi said on camera. She said that she "knows something" but wouldn't reveal it saying it will come out in due time. My guess is that she is making a threat which really isn't one. She's grandstanding. IF she knows something that explosive, it is likely from the closed hearings leading to Newt's censure. Of course, she'll "leak" that to the Obama camp if Newt gets the nod. I suspect that in doing so she would be in violation of law (not that this Administration has had any respect for such a small thing as law) and would be subject to prosecution (which of course would be swept under the rug as she is planning to become Speaker once again).

Her proclamation is but one glaring example of just how self absorbed and obscenely vile our political system is today. It is little wonder that the public gives it an 11% confidence rating...but that seems not to matter to this House of thugs and perverts. And that is about the ONLY bipartisan aspect of Congress today.

I don't see the comparison of the so-called conscientious middle not liking Gingrich more than Dubya. Dubya was not running against Obama, McCain was and HE was not an ardent fan or supporter of Dubya. The choice was not to cleave to Dubya or to Obama.

Pelosi's office released a statement a short while ago that the "something" she knows is that Gingrich won't be elected President. Sounds like her handlers forgot to give her her meds and nobody was minding her when she encountered the press.

What is more discomforting about Madame Pelosi is that were she to regain the Speaker role...she'd be 4th in line. What a horrifying thought.

I think the Speaker is right after the VEEP.

Neal, the logical omission was to suggest Barry's election was as much a repudiation of Dubya (and McCain as the Republican proxy) as it was a vote for him. The same forces will work to Obama's advantage if the referendum is perceived as a necessary repudiation of Newt.
